After accidentally posting this with nothing in it, I'm back in the game. I gave blood the other day and although I felt like my head was going to explode, along with my bladder, I rushed to the mobile donation van and had to wait outside with no indication of how long. Fortunately for me, it wasn't pouring with torrential rain like it was the day before.
When invited into the van, I got all anticipatory with the prospect of getting it over with and charging back to work while I was all hyped up enough to get stuck into some fast-paced goal kicking. All hyped up until I was told two coffees that morning wasn't an adequate water intake to responsibly leach blood away from my semi-dehydrated body.
Anyway, I stood by the water cooler in the recovery 'lounge' (seat at the end of the van near the kitchenette) and downed five cups of water. It might have been the eager look in my eye, but I was soon invited to back to the blood benches. I clenched my eyes for needle insertion and commenced rolling the little cylindrical thing covered in medical bib paper to get blood flowing. After about whatever long, because I lost track, of chit chat with the phlebotomist, I was outta there, but not before grabbing a cheese snack, cordial and Crunchie from the 'lounge'.
My good deed for the quarter? Well it wasn't without its mutual benefits.

Needle in a haystack
Alright, so I checked to see if I could get back into the blogsite and thought I'd post another because obviously, and amazingly I managed it.
This weekend flew by for me. I think it was the orienteering. My friend, Berty Guacamoli, and I took to the hills in search of little coloured markers with various punching apparatus attached to use as proof we'd found them. Not long after starting I realised 'slow run' listed on the card to indicate the kind of wilderness we were moving through, actually meant slow and careful walk to avoid all manner of underbrush, scary insects and animals.
A few scratches later, I suggested hopefully that the tracks would allow us to move quicker and was glad Berty was so patient and accommodating, even though children and the elderly were running through the thicket around us. They were wearing long, protective clothing (mostly).

Long Time; No Hear
I'd forgotten I had a blog site (or 'blob' site as my boss calls them on occasion) until I was reminded today and inspired to start a serious attempt to post regular updates. Other people do it, surely it can't be that hard.
If that were true, I would have streams of posts here. Before this entry, I had more comments than posts, which I could prove if I kept them. I'm going to take that as a small, small win for me anyway and attribute my prior posting effort to lack of motivation.
I've started again now and will write this post to Lynne. If I fall off the blogging wagon I only have myself to blame, but I'm currently back on. All I should have to do now is think up interesting things to say without giving too much away. You never know who's looking at this stuff, or what they're doing with it.
